I was recently given a large donation of buttons from a lovely woman I had met at a recent craft fair. She had told me that her mother had been a child of the Depression and that she took buttons off of shirts before getting rid of them. These buttons were a piece of her mother. I had made the woman and her two sisters charm bracelets using only the buttons that came from their mother. When I had surprised the woman with this gift she began to cry. She told me that “she would be forever grateful” and that she “never thought those old buttons could look so good”. I was happy!
